Ultrasonography, also known as ultrasound, is a radio-diagnostic imaging technique , based on ultrasound's ability to spread through fluids. Ultrasound waves weakly spread through air and bone, but alternatively very well through fluids and soft-tissues. Ultrasound wave, when faces obstacle (surface of other medium), breaks. With special sensors, reflected and dispersed waves, are recorded. Image is observed on the screen. Ultrasound testing is used to evaluate soft-tissues and organs – gastrointestinal system, urogenital system, thyroid, breasts, joints. This diagnostic method is widely used in gynecology.

Benefits of this test:

  • ultrasound is not harmful, ultrasound waves are not ionizing
  • non-invasive, non-painful
  • quickly done
  • cheap

Tests performed:

  • liver, gall-bladder, pancreas, kidney, spleen, thyroid ultrasound
  • breasts ultrasound
  • other intestinal organ's ultrasound

Preventative programs:

  • extensive preventative thyroid examination program (thyroid ultrasound with doctor's consultation, hormones blood test)
  • extensive preventative renal function evaluation program (kidney ultrasound with doctor's consultation, blood tests, urine test)
  • extensive preventative liver examination program (liver, pancreas, gall-bladder ultrasound with doctor's consultation, liver enzymes test, hepatitis B and C tests).
